Rachel Zegler is currently on strike with the rest of SAG-AFTRA in an effort to improve the conditions for all actors in the studio system. As such, the Snow White star made some serious demands to Disney while standing at the picket lines for the strike.
As you can see below, she puts it perfectly clear that she wants Disney to pay her for however much the Snow White film is inevitably streamed on Disney Plus. Especially given how much work she has to put into acting in the movie, which involves wearing a princess outfit for eighteen hours a day.
Here’s what the Snow White star had to say while on strike:
“If I’m gonna stand there 18 hours a day in the dress of an iconic Disney Princess,” she says, “I deserve to be paid for every hour that it’s streamed online.”

Of course, the studios have been reportedly difficult to negotiate with, so it’s likely that Disney didn’t appreciate the comments. But as both SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike for better conditions for their members – it’s clear that something will have to give. As such, we’ll have to see what new guidelines and improvements come as a result of these strikes in the near future.
The upcoming film Snow White is being directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay penned by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson. The original story stems from an 1812 fairy tale from the Brothers Grimm. The project has already faced backlash due to controversial decisions made with its dwarf characters. Many of the roles have been diversified and almost all of them have been given to normal-sized people as opposed to actors with dwarfism.
Snow White is expected to be released in 2024 though no official release date has been set. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them. It’s unknown if the strikes will result in a delay for the film or not.
