Both of Sebastian Stan’s costars warned the actor about giving away what Marvel Studios film he’d like to appear in next. Chris Evans warned him by saying “Be careful, man!” and Anthony Mackie suggested he was going to “break the internet tomorrow.”
Nevertheless, the actor gave away a tease for Bucky’s possible future. “I don’t know, man. I mean, there’s obviously a very clear answer but I’m not maybe say it, now,” before adding “Where did he end up at the end of the movie? That’s the movie he should be in,” he finished.
Spoilers Ahead!
By the end of the film, Bucky Barnes finds himself in stasis in Black Panther’s home of Wakanda. By Sebastian Stan teasing the ending of Civil War as a starting point for his character’s next film, he may very well appear in director Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther film set for a 2018 release date.
In a concluding statement, Sebastian managed to say:
“I feel like that would be the natural… But I don’t know.”
According to Marvel Encyclopedia:
Wakanda, officially known as the Kingdom of Wakanda, is a small nation in North East Africa. For centuries they have remained in isolation and are now considered the most technologically advanced nation of the planet. Birnin Zana is the capital and largest city.
Who knows if this will actually happen, but it’s pretty telling that Sebastian Stan is mentioning that. With how often Marvel changes their plans, it’ll be interesting to see what we end up getting.
Captain America: Civil War is still in theaters and Black Panther is set for a release on February 16, 2018.
