The only thing the Marvel Cinematic Universe tends to do more than introducing new characters, is killing off existing ones. Now one such Captain Marvel star has been killed off in Marvel’s latest Disney Plus series.
The series, Secret Invasion, just debuted its fourth episode. It’s during the end of this episode that has fans freaking out on social media. Obviously fans weren’t ready to see such a beloved Captain Marvel character killed off.
The character, being Ben Mendelsohn’s Skrull named Talos, has certainly made a name for himself in the MCU. The character played a large part in Captain Marvel. He was later teased in Spider-Man: Far From Home for his role that would come in Secret Invasion. Unfortunately, it looks like his arc in the MCU is over.

Talos was killed in the episode when Gravik’s rebellion took Fury and Talos on a mission to save President Ritson. Unfortunately, Fury didn’t fully succeed in his mission against the shape-shifting Skrulls, as he wound up watching Talos get killed. It was a sad moment and one that stunned fans as Talos sacrificed himself to save President Ritson from Gravik who had disguised himself as a United States soldier. Of course, it’s possible that this now puts Emilia Clarke’s G’iah in charge of the Skrulls, and we’ll have to see how this changes the MCU going forward.
The cast of Secret Invasion includes Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Ben Mendelsohn plays the Skrull character Talos. Cobie Smulders reprises their role as Maria Hill. Martin Freeman portrays Everett K. Ross while Don Cheadle plays James “Rhodey” Rhodes aka War Machine. The cast for the show also includes Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald, and Carmen Ejogo.
