Marvel fans are always eager to see which of their favorite actors will make a return in a future project. Now one such Marvel star, Anson Mount, has teased that talks are happening for his own return.
Mount is known for having played the character Black Bolt in the television series Inhumans. And, while the series itself wasn’t a hit with fans, audiences did love Mount’s performance. In fact, he soon returned to play a variant of his character in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Of course, his return was short-lived, and the variant was swiftly killed off by Wanda Maximoff. But this hasn’t yet closed off a possibility for Black Bolt to return as yet another variant or as his original MCU incarnation. Now Anson Mount confirms that talks are taking place for his return while speaking with Radio Times about his role.
Here’s what the Marvel star shared, noting that his return would have to take place after the current phase:
“If the answer was yes, I wouldn’t be able to tell you – but the answer is no, so I can. I’ve had some informal conversations with the powers [at] Marvel and it’s a conversation, but they’ve got their current phase that they need to do.”
He further emphasized his desire to return:
“I don’t know, we’ll see. I would love to jump back into the cowl and do it again. I love Black Bolt as a character.”
Thus we’ll have to see if Anson Mount will return as Black Bolt for a future Marvel project after the current phase. For now, it’s nice to see that he’s enthusiastic about the part, and that the studio has had informal discussions about his return. Perhaps it’s only a matter of time.
