The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been adapting both superheroes and supervillains from Marvel‘s library of comics for years now. Sony has likewise been trying to do the same. Their latest attempt, Kraven the Hunter, features actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character. Now the first look appears to have leaked online.
The image, which surfaced on Twitter, features a very interesting glimpse at Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the character. It’s worth noting that fans are actually quite upset by the look because it looks like Kraven is missing one of his most iconic costume pieces from the comics. Fans no doubt recognize Kraven for his memorable lion mane vest. For his first live-action appearance, however, it looks like the vest has been replaced altogether.

As mentioned, the lion mane vest seems to have been replaced with a more average-looking leather vest. Of course, he could acquire the lion mane vest later in the film, especially if this is his origin story. Otherwise, Sony could be trying to introduce a new version of the character. One that will have less potential for controversy. Of course, when dealing with a hunter – and villain, no less – it might not strike the right chord with fans. Hopefully we’ll have some official details soon. For now, here’s what fans have to say:
