Fans have been wondering if Marvel Studios would continue to work with Jonathan Majors after the actor faced several assault charges. Now it looks like Marvel has reportedly began preparations to recast Jonathan Majors depending on the situation.
As shared via Cosmic Circus, they report that Jonathan Majors will continue to appear in the second season of Loki. The actor already shot his scenes for the series in which he will once again play several variants of Kang the Conqueror. However, depending on his current legal situation, they may recast the actor for the character’s following MCU appearances.
Here’s what they were able to share, noting that both Marvel and Disney “are closely monitoring the case” regarding Majors:
“Given the nature of the allegations, Marvel and Disney are closely monitoring the case before making any official decision. However, according to sources familiar with the situation, Marvel has already started preparations (if push comes to shove and the need arises) to recast Kang the Conqueror.”
Of course, these reports should be taken with a grain of salt until Marvel or Disney can issue an official statement on the matter. But there will no doubt be serious changes if Jonathan Majors’ legal situation doesn’t turn around for the better. As always, and much like the aforementioned companies, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Jonathan Majors and his legal team both insist that he’s innocent. Though he’s already been dropped by his management and PR agency in addition to several upcoming projects.
The cast of Loki Season 2 will once again feature Tom Hiddleston as the titular character. The cast also includes Kate Dickie, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, and Rafael Casal.
The first season of Loki is currently available to watch on the Disney Plus streaming service. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Loki, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and actor Jonathan Majors as we have them.
