Pete Davidson already took the world by storm with his DC cameo in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Now, thanks to James Gunn’s involvement with Marvel Studios and the MCU, Pete Davidson has appeared in the other major comic book universe.
Fans will recall that Davidson humorously played Blackguard for the opening moments of The Suicide Squad. Now he has another cameo in the newly-released blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. But this time it’s a little harder to spot.
James Gunn confirms as much in a newly-shared social media photo. Fans can see Gunn pictured alongside Davidson and Chris Pratt from the set of the new film. It also confirms just which character Pete Davidson played in the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster.
Here’s the post:
“With my pal Pete Davidson who showed up one day to hang out and to shoot a cameo (it’s in the movie, but you have to look closely to find him…)”

As for his specific role, Davidson plays one of the High Evolutionary’s guards in the film. He appears in the character’s main room which was mostly destroyed by this point of the film. It’s a fun surprise and one that should certainly have fans of Pete Davidson eager for more.
After all, Davidson has quickly become quite the celebrity. But it’s unknown if he’ll be having any other appearances in either Marvel or DC. But with James Gunn now more closely involved with DC – and launching a whole-new shared universe – it’s possible that Davidson could play a part. This might allow him to have a bigger role as a variant of Blackguard, or perhaps he’ll appear as a wholly different DC character. We’ll just have to see what happens.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is currently playing in theaters. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional DC, Marvel, and Pete Davidson updates as we have them.
