Work is currently underway on another brand-new MCU series for Disney Plus. The new series, titled Wonder Man, is set to introduce actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the titular character. However, some new set photos indicate that a fan-favorite MCU character is also set to return for Wonder Man.
The photos, as you can see below, feature actor Ben Kingsley. Fans might not recognize the actor but he’s returned to portray his character Trevor Slattery. If that name doesn’t ring a bell – it should. Trevor Slattery was a fictional actor featured in Iron Man 3. His character was hired to play a fake villain and he later returned in the short All Hail the King and more recently in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Now, as shown in the new Wonder Man set photos, via Daily Mail, he’ll play the role again in the upcoming Disney Plus series. Here are the Wonder Man set photos:

Of course, we still don’t have any looks at actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, nor do we see Demetrius Grosse who will play his brother Eric Williams, but it’s exciting to see Kingsley. After all, the series is being described as something of a “Hollywood satire.” It would only make sense, then, to bring the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s most iconic “failed actor” character into the mix. Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery will certainly be one of many highlights that fans can expect to see.
Stella Meghie will direct several episodes of the series. Destin Daniel Cretton is writing alongside Andrew Guest. Guest will also serve as showrunner on the series.
Hopefully we’ll have more details soon. Especially now that production is currently underway. A release date for the series has yet to be announced. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on the highly-anticipated Disney Plus series Wonder Man as we have them.
