Jonathan Majors has become well-known for his Hollywood career which includes his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s now been confirmed that Majors has been arrested after being accused of assault.
As noted via THR, the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor was arrested on Saturday. Though a representative for Majors has denied that he’s responsible for any wrongdoing.
As stated:
“He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”
The victim is said to be a 30-year-old female while Jonathan Majors turned out to be the 33-year-old male described in the following situation:
“The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident,” the statement noted. THR adds, via police, that “the woman sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was taken to a hospital.”
It’s been stated that he had a “domestic” relationship with the woman – though a new report from TMZ refers to the victim as Majors’ girlfriend. The report states that they got into an argument over Majors texting another girl and she tried to “peak” at his phone. She claims that he got mad over that and grabbed her hand, slapped her and put her hand around her neck.
As for the charges regarding Majors’ arrest, those include strangulation, assault, and harassment. Though the actor is no longer in police custody, he is due back in court in May.
This is certainly a shocking report given the popularity of Jonathan Majors in Hollywood at the moment. His role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a central part of their upcoming films and television shows. Majors has so far played several “variants” of his comic book character and it’s expected that multiple more will be appearing as well. This will ultimately lead into the film Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
As such, we’ll have to see how this situation develops, especially with his roles in other upcoming projects such as the second season of Loki. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them.
