Cameron Diaz previously announced her retirement from acting. It was Jamie Foxx, however, that convinced her to return for a new drama film titled Back in Action. The film is expected to be a comeback movie for Diaz – though it might’ve also convinced her to retire again.
As shared via The Sun, Jamie Foxx allegedly had a meltdown on the set of Back in Action. It was this meltdown that seems to have convinced Diaz to yet again retire from acting.
Here’s what their source shared:
“There have been some issues on set and Jamie has had a major meltdown over it all.
“He demanded the problems be sorted immediately and sacked four of the production staff – as if that would magically improve the situation.”
The four production staff members are reported to have included an executive producer, an assistant director, a unit director, and Jamie’s driver. As further noted by the source:
“Some people working on it are totally fed up with how this has played out and Jamie has become pretty unpopular.”
Additionally, another report from The Sun adds that “someone tried to get access to £33,000 in cash from Jamie Foxx.” An investigation has been ongoing as a result. But, given the amount of problems revolving around the film, Cameron is said to be “planning to quit film acting again.”
“She hates drama and confrontation,” says one source regarding Diaz. “This is why she retired in the first place.”
It’s worth noting that both Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx have worked together in the past. Their first collaboration was in the 1999 film Any Given Sunday and later the 2014 film Annie, which happened to be Diaz’s last film role up until now.
