Actor Lance Reddick is known for his roles in the John Wick film franchise, The Guest, and the Resident Evil Netflix series. Sadly, it’s been shared that Reddick has died at age 60.
As shared via TMZ, “Lance’s body was discovered at his Studio City home Friday morning around 9:30 AM.” The publication continues: “His cause of death is currently unclear, but our law enforcement sources say it appears to be natural.”
His passing comes as a shock as the actor had just been participating in a press tour for John Wick: Chapter 4. Reddick had built a reputation around the John Wick film franchise, having played the character Charon in all four films of the series. The actor was also present in a social media video shared on Wednesday – where he appeared to be skipping the John Wick: Chapter 4 premiere in New York. There was never a reason given.
Many fans will also recall Reddick’s work in such hit television shows including The Wire, Fringe, and Bosch. One of his most recent television appearances included the Netflix series Resident Evil where Reddick starred as the notorious franchise villain Albert Wesker. His performance as Wesker was considered a highlight of the series.
Reddick additionally appeared in 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong which featured his second collaboration with director Adam Wingard. The two previously worked together on the 2014 film The Guest. Reddick’s character in the film was considered yet another highlight and his character, Major Carver, became the focus of a song titled Carver’s War Machine featured on the music album The Guest 2 (Original Soundtrack).
This is certainly disappointing news for fans of the actor. Especially those who’ve come to appreciate his work in recent years. Though we’ll certainly continue to enjoy his work for years to come.
Lance Reddick is survived by his wife, Stephanie Reddick, and his children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick.
