Fans seemed to be universally pleased with Joaquin Phoenix’s version of the Joker. So much so, in fact, that a sequel titled Joker: Folie à Deux has been placed into production. And if one Joker wasn’t enough for you – it looks like there’s at least one scene with two other versions of Joker in the film. At least, that’s what a set video for Joker 2 has revealed.
The set video, which was shared via Twitter, shows a scene of Phoenix running down a city street. It’s unknown what exactly he’s running from until two other versions of himself begin to chase him. It’s an interesting visual and one can’t help but wonder how it’ll play out in the final film.
Here’s the set video which reveals the three different versions of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker:

Some believe this is a nod to the comic book storyline Batman: Three Jokers. Of course, Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker may very well be imagining these two other versions of himself. It would certainly be fitting considering the film’s title literally translates as “madness of two.” Of course, one would also assume that title also refers to the addition of Harley Quinn to the film’s plot.
We’ll just have to wait and see what this sequence leads up to. Either way, it certainly proves that the new Joker sequel will be going into some very interesting and different directions when compared to its predecessor.
Todd Phillips is currently returning from his work on Joker to direct the sequel, which he co-wrote the screenplay for alongside Scott Silver.
The cast of the film currently includes Joaquin Phoenix as the titular Joker with Lady Gaga joining as Harley Quinn.
Joker: Folie à Deux, AKA Joker 2, is slated for release on October 4th, 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on this highly-anticipated sequel as we have them.
