It appears that former America’s Next Top Model winner Adrianne Curry was caught body-shaming The Last of Us star Melanie Lynskey on social media. Now Curry has deleted her Twitter account as a result.
This was noted via EW where Adrianne Curry apparently made the following body-shaming statement regarding Melanie Lynskey and her physical appearance on the hit HBO series:
“life of luxury…not post-apocalyptic warlord,” she wrote. “where is linda hamilton when you need her?”
Though Lynskey did offer her own response to Curry. And, as it turns out, she had a pretty good response. She pointed out that the photo came from an InStyle photoshoot rather than any scenes from The Last of Us.
“I’m playing a person who meticulously planned & executed an overthrow of FEDRA,” she wrote. “I am supposed to be SMART, ma’am. I don’t need to be muscly. That’s what henchmen are for.”
Firstly- this is a photo from my cover shoot for InStyle magazine, not a still from HBO’s The Last Of Us. And I’m playing a person who meticulously planned & executed an overthrow of FEDRA. I am supposed to be SMART, ma’am. I don’t need to be muscly. That’s what henchmen are for pic.twitter.com/YwkmkwUdOm

Despite having deleted her Twitter account, however, it appears that Curry didn’t do so for learning her lesson. Rather, she took the opportunity to complain via Facebook:
“Actors and actresses that cannot take criticism of characters they play is absurd to me,” Curry wrote.
Curry also added that she won’t be returning to Twitter until Lynskey’s fans quit attacking her, for what she calls “not finding her feminine stature suitable for warlord status.”
The Last of Us was developed by Craig Mazin who worked alongside Neil Druckmann to write and executive produce. Kantemir Balagov directed the pilot episode with Jasmila Žbanić and Ali Abbasi having directed additional episodes.
The cast of The Last of Us includes Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Troy Baker, and Ashley Johnson, as well as Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Jeffrey Pierce and Anna Torv.
Fans can currently stream The Last of Us via HBO Max. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates regarding the fan-favorite series as we have them.
