Marvel has introduced an endless number of superheroes throughout its tenure. The most powerful of these heroes, however, happens to be Avenger Prime. And now the identity of this character has been officially revealed.
The new reveal, as noted via CBR, was made in Avengers Forever #13. The issue comes from Jason Aaron, Aaron Kuder, Mark Farmer, Frank Martin, and VC’s Cory Petit. The issue finds a number of heroes from across the Multiverse that are called to protect the Avengers Tower. The attacker just so happens to be Mephisto with an army of variants.
Of course, Avenger Prime is the biggest draw from this issue. The character was first introduced in Free Comic Book Day Avengers/Hulk #1. Since then, his identity has been kept secret, but now we know which character is actually Avenger Prime. And it’s quite the surprise.

This surprising reveal happens after the team manages to defeat Mephisto and his army. Unfortunately, a group of Doctor Doom variants led by Doom Supreme happen to appear. This is when Avenger Prime decides to come forward. The character removes his helmet and appears to be none other than a variant of Loki.
As such, fans will next see this character’s story continued in Avengers #65. The upcoming issue, along with Avengers Forever #13, are part of an ongoing event titled Avengers Assemble. The two series are intended to lead into a grand finale titled Avengers Assemble Omega.
Avengers #65 will be released on February 1, 2023. Avengers Assemble Omega will then arrive on April 19, 2023. Finally, the series will be rebooted altogether with a new Avengers storyline debuting in May 2023. As such, there’s clearly plenty of action going on for fans to keep up with.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Marvel and Avengers updates as we have them. For now, it’s certainly a surprise to see that Avenger Prime was none other than a variant of Loki.
