Although Zack Snyder’s work in the DCU seems to be over, fans can still look forward to his upcoming space opera film. The new movie is titled Rebel Moon and it’s set to premiere on Netflix.
As such, fans have been anxious to see how the project is coming along. Now Netflix has released the first look at the film within their 2023 preview. The new preview features footage from a number of different films being released on Netflix throughout this year.
And, with that in mind, it means there wasn’t much room to show off Rebel Moon for long. But the footage that can be pictured is exactly the kind of high-octane action and visual spectacle that one might expect from Snyder. Here’s the footage taken by itself from Rotten Tomatoes on Facebook:

Sadly, we’re still about a year away from when the film will be released. This means it might be quite some time before we see more footage from the film. But it’s certainly an exciting glimpse for what’s to come.
The logline for Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon includes the following description:
“A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. The desperate civilians dispatch Kora, a young woman who has a mysterious past to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them challenge the regent.”
Zack Snyder directed Rebel Moon from a screenplay he co-wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. He also created the story for the film alongside Johnstad.
The cast for the film includes Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ray Fisher, Djimon Hounsou, Jena Malone, Corey Stoll, Ed Skrein, Cleopatra Coleman, Fra Fee, Cary Elwes, and Anthony Hopkins.
Rebel Moon is scheduled to premiere via Netflix on December 22, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates regarding Zack Snyder’s highly-anticipated space opera film as we have them.
