As Marvel Studios continues work on their upcoming Fantastic Four film, fans are eager to know who will be playing the members of the titular superhero team. Now a new report suggests that none other than Adam Driver is being eyed for a role in the Fantastic Four project.
This report comes via The Direct. Interestingly, they claim that Adam Driver is actually the “top casting choice” to play Reed Richards in the film. This would certainly be an interesting choice, as a variant of Richards was previously played by John Krasinski in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Many fans initially thought Krasinski would return to play the MCU’s version of the character as well. But it’s become clear at this point that they’re interested in having another actor for the part. As such, that’s where Fantastic Four “front-runner” Adam Driver would fit in for the role.
With that said, Marvel Studios has yet to release any public statement on the matter. So, for the time being, fans should take this information with a grain of salt. There are always other actors that could be decided on in the meantime. But we should have official information soon as the film’s inevitable production date approaches.
Otherwise, we still have a few years before Fantastic Four is expected to hit theaters in 2025. This means plot details and other cast details are yet to be revealed. But the Marvel Cinematic Universe often introduces these elements ahead of time – so hopefully we’ll have some Fantastic Four tidbits sooner rather than later. Either way, it’ll happen eventually.
Matt Shankman will direct Fantastic Four while Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer write the screenplay.
The new Fantastic Four iteration is currently scheduled to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on the highly-anticipated MCU project as we have them.
