It’s been known for some time that Tobin Bell is involved with Saw 10, with franchise veteran Shawnee Smith also circling the project. Now an additional four Saw 10 cast members have been announced.
As shared via Deadline, the new cast members will be joining the filming of Saw 10 taking place in Mexico City. The specific plot is being kept under wraps, though it presumably contains prequel elements given the involvement of Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith.
And while their character details are unknown, here are the newly-revealed cast members:
Renata Vaca
Paulette Hernandez
Joshua Okamoto
Octavio Hinojosa
They will be joining an additional previously-announced ensemble which also includes Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand and Michael Beach. With both newcomers and iconic Saw veterans Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith, it’s hard not to wonder what can be in store for this new installment. Although given the layered levels of storytelling that the film franchise is known for, it will likely be both surprising and unexpected.
Lionsgate has teased the following regarding the setup of this new sequel:
“The return of Tobin Bell to the franchise furthers Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ goal of a film that captures everything Saw fans love about the franchise, while also keeping them guessing with all-new traps and a new mystery to solve.”
Now that shooting is underway and the cast is growing steadily, we should hopefully have more details soon. In the meantime, it’s great seeing everything moving forward at a smooth pace.
Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, will be directing this new installment of the franchise. He previously edited the first five Saw films as well in addition to Jigsaw.
This next installment in the Saw film franchise is currently scheduled to be released next year on October 27, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional Saw updates as we have them.
