Although The Walking Dead is coming to an end, the popular franchise is still set to continue with a number of new and exciting spin-offs. Of course, that doesn’t make it any less shocking that the flagship series is finally coming to an end. Many fans are curious to see how AMC plans to conclude such a popular and long-running series for the network. And, while we still have yet to see, star Norman Reedus has teased that “everybody dies” in the finale episode for The Walking Dead.
He explained as much while speaking with EW about the episode. Naturally, he notes, “there will be lots of that sort of screaming at the television kind of stuff.” As a result, that includes “a lot of adrenaline.” And, naturally enough, “there’s a lot of emotion. There’s a lot of fear. There are all of the things that you would want in a finale, for sure.” With that in mind, it seems like the traditional kind of finale you’d hope to see for something like The Walking Dead. However, that’s when Norman Reedus began to tease that “everybody dies.”
Specifically, he added:
“There’s a lot happening. Some of the groups show some real bravery that you don’t see coming, which is great. And they’re big sets — big badass movie sets. And then everybody dies. NO, KIDDING!”
With that in mind, quite a few characters from the show will be parting ways for their own spin-off shows. So it’s clear that his comment is genuinely meant as a joke. But one can only imagine how emotional the episode will be – and what deaths we can expect to see. The episode is even titled “Rest in Peace,” named after the final volume of the Walking Dead comic book from creator Robert Kirkman.
Fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on The Walking Dead as we have them. In the meantime, the series finale of The Walking Dead titled “Rest in Peace” will air on Sunday, November 20, on both AMC and AMC Plus.
