It’s been awhile since production first began for The Expendables 4, but Lionsgate has now revealed a major update. The Expendables 4 has a brand-new 2023 release date. This means fans will have less than 12 months to wait before they’ll be able to see Sylvester Stallone and friends back on the big screen.
As revealed via Deadline, the release date for The Expendables 4 has been scheduled for September 22, 2023. Interestingly, this date places the film up against an untitled Warner Bros DC movie. While we don’t yet know what that untitled film could be, it’ll be interesting to see how The Expendables 4 stands against it. As of now, the franchise has grossed nearly $804 million globally. It’ll be exciting to see, then, what Lionsgate has in store for fans this time around.
Here’s the basis for the new film:
“Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.”
While we wait to see what the actual plot for The Expendables 4 will be, we do know some of the exciting cast members that are part of the project. We can expect familiar faces such as Sylvester Stallone once again returning, but it looks like we’ll also get to see such Hollywood stars as Megan Fox and 50 Cent. Hopefully we’ll have more details regarding the project in the coming months.
The Expendables 4 was directed by Scott Waugh. The screenplay for the film was written by Max D. Adams, John Joseph Connolly, and Spenser Cohen.
The returning cast for the new film includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture. Meanwhile, newcomers to the film’s cast include Megan Fox, Andy Garcia, Tony Jaa, and 50 Cent.
Fans will be able to see The Expendables 4 in theaters next year on September 22, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates on the highly-anticipated action film sequel as we have them.
