Although The Addams Family has never really waned in popularity, there has certainly been a decrease in live-action adaptations over the years. That’s about to change, however, as legendary filmmaker Tim Burton has a brand-new Addams Family series on the way. This new Netflix show will be quite different from previous adaptations, however, with more of an emphasis on iconic character Wednesday Addams. Modern-day scream queen Jenna Ortega will be playing Wednesday Addams this time around, and as you can see below, she’s doing a great job. A number of new images from Wednesday were shared which features not only Jenna Ortega’s titular character but the rest of the Addams clan as well.
In addition to Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, fans can see Luis Guzmán as Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia. Furthermore, fans can also get a look at actor Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams. Another image was also shared, as revealed via Vanity Fair, which shows Wednesday sitting between her parents.
Here are the Wednesday images below:
Hopefully we’ll get to see more images or footage from the upcoming series sooner rather than later. While we have received our first teaser trailer, glimpses beyond that have essentially been nonexistent. But The Addams Family is a major brand and with filmmaker Tim Burton and so many other iconic faces involved, we should expect the marketing to be incredible once it finally begins. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on Wednesday as we have them. In the meantime, at least we can enjoy these new cast photos.
The cast for the series includes Jenna Ortega as the titular Wednesday Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. Isaac Ordonez will also be playing Pugsley Addams while Christina Ricci has an undisclosed role in the show. Tim Burton directed the series while Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were attached as writers and showrunners.
