Although many upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe projects are already announced, fans are still eagerly trying to understand what’s in store. After all, Marvel Studios tends to keep their cards secret up until the last minute. This means upcoming films like Fantastic Four are going to have plenty of surprises up until their theatrical release. One such surprise, however, might’ve just been revealed. It appears that none other than Howard Stern is involved with a project containing Doctor Doom!
Whether or not he’s referring to Fantastic Four or another project including Doctor Doom remains to be seen. But he does seem to be involved with Marvel according to a statement he made while thinking his microphone was off.
Here’s what he stated:
“They’re going over the schedule with me and it’s gonna suck,” he began “Well, I told you I’m gonna do Dr. Doom, but believe me, I’m f*cking miserable about it. [I] called Robert Downey, Jr. and I was asking him acting techniques.”
Obviously this could mean a lot of things. For example, Howard Stern could merely be pulling a massive prank on his listeners by pretending he thought his microphone was off. Otherwise, it does seem like he’s involved with an upcoming Marvel Studios project.
Unfortunately, it’s unclear whether or not it’s the upcoming Fantastic Four film or some other Marvel Studios series or film – potentially one focused solely on the aforementioned villain. Finally, fans have one final question. Is Howard Stern playing Doctor Doom himself? While that could be possible, there’s also the chance he’s merely playing in a Doctor Doom project as a separate character.
In any case, you can hear what he had to say in the video below:
Just waking up in the morning, gotta thank God. So this is interesting. On the Howard Stern show today they ended the episode to go on summer break and had a hot mic on. Did Stern say he’s involved with a Doctor Doom project with Jon Favreau?

Hopefully we’ll have more details on whatever this means in the near future. As for now, it looks like fans can begin to expect Howard Stern playing a role in some kind of Marvel Studios project. It’s worth mentioning that Marvel has already set the stage for Fantastic Four – especially after having John Krasinski play a unique variant of Reed Richards for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So it’s possible that Howard Stern could be a variant as well as opposed to the main Doctor Doom.
