The very popular between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife actress Amber Heard ended quite recently. While many were relieved to see actor Johnny Depp win the verdict of the trial, especially after the actor gained the support of the public opinion, it’s clear that Amber Heard is still upset. In fact, it was revealed that she intends to appeal the jury’s verdict. Now Amber Heard has spoken for the first time since her initial statement given when the verdict was initially announced.
As revealed in an interview with NBC News, she says Johnny Depp is a “fantastic actor” and as such doesn’t blame the jury. She also doesn’t believe that what’s happened to her “has been fair.”
Here’s what she had to say:
“I don’t blame them. I actually understand. He’s a beloved character and people feel they know him. He’s a fantastic actor. I don’t care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors. I don’t presume the average person should know those things. And so I don’t take it personally.”
She then continued to explain that she believes social media is to blame.
“But even somebody who is sure I’m deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation. You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair.”
This lines up with her initial statement in which she believed the jury was “confused” and influenced to vote against her. Of course, she now seems much more intent on referencing social media users for the unfair representation. In any case, it’s clear that the legal debacle with Johnny Depp will likely still continue for quite some time. Fans can thus stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates as we have them.
