Actor Ray Liotta has contributed performances to a wide variety of beloved films, television shows, and even video games. Sadly, it’s been revealed that he has died at age 67.
This information comes via Deadline, where they revealed the following:
“Ray Liotta, the terrific actor whose career breakout came in the 1990 Martin Scorsese crime classic Goodfellasafter co-starring in Field of Dreams, has died. He was 67.”
While no cause of death was given, Ray Liotta died in his sleep. The actor was staying in the Dominican Republic for a new film shoot. As stated:
“He died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting the film Dangerous Waters.”
The actor had a very successful career throughout his life, and that includes very recently. For example, some of his recent appearances included The Many Saints of Newark, Marriage Story, and No Sudden Move. Furthermore, not only did he contribute to those recent hits, but he had a number of other films in the works as well. For example, he’d recently finished acting in the upcoming film Cocaine Bear for director Elizabeth Banks. He also had several other films lined up before his death.
In addition to having played in the aforementioned films, Ray Liotta also acted in hit shows for both television networks and streaming services such as Black Bird, Hanna, and Shades of Blue. On the video game side of things, he played iconic Grand Theft Auto franchise character Tommy Vercetti in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The game was recently remastered and included in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. Similarly, he played Billy Handsome in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies DLC titled Mob of the Dead.
It’s clear that his presence will truly be missed on all sides of the media industry. Ray Liotta is survived by his daughter Karsen and his fiancée Jacy Nittolo.
