It has been revealed that a new Daredevil series is officially in the works for Disney Plus, something that fans have been clamoring for for quite a while now – and will undoubtedly be excited to hear about finally happening. Matt Corman and Chris Ord will write the series.
The news comes to use from Variety, who writes:
A new “Daredevil” series is moving forward at Disney+, with Variety having exclusively learned from sources that Matt Corman and Chris Ord are attached to write and executive produce.
Fans can expect to see Charlie Cox back as Daredevil, as we just saw the actor in Spider-Man: No Way Home – and can also expect to see Vincent D’Onofrio back as Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin, as the actor appeared in Hawkeye and will likely appear in the upcoming Echo series.
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige already confirmed it’ll be Cox who plays Daredevil in future Marvel Cinematic Universe things:
“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”
With the show headed to Disney Plus, it’s interesting to wonder if it will be as violent as the Netflix shows were – but as most of you already know, those Netflix shows are currently streaming on Disney Plus now, so anything is possible.
Rumors have been coming out for a while now regarding the future of the character, so it’s good that fans finally have some information on where the character will be headed. The show might not be his next appearance, however, as in addition to Kingpin, it’s been rumored we will see Matt Murdock show up on Echo.
As with everything MCU related, we’ll be sure to keep you posted on everything as we get it.
