Fans have been anxiously waiting to see another installment in the long-running Predator film franchise. While a variety of sequels and spin-offs have been produced over the decades, the upcoming film Prey will be a completely different experience. As you can see in a new teaser trailer released for the film, Prey will be the franchise’s first prequel.
The upcoming film takes place 300 years ago in the Comanche Nation. It will show one of the first encounters that humans have had with the alien species commonly referred to as “Predators.” Obviously there’s a lot of potential for this concept. And if the teaser is anything to go by, they’ve taken a very suspenseful and authentic approach with the material.

Here’s the synopsis for Prey…
“Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.”
Dan Trachtenberg directed the film from a screenplay by Patrick Aison. John Davis and Jhane Myers are attached as producers. Lawrence Gordon, Marty Ewing, James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas, and Marc Toberoff are executive producing.
The cast for the film includes Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, and Julian Black Antelope.
Fans will be able to stream the highly-anticipated Predator prequel, Prey, on Hulu when August 5 arrives.
