It’s been announced that actor and comedian Gilbert Gottfried has died at age 67. This is certainly a sad day for fans as well as friends and family of Gottfried.
The statement confirming Gilbert Gottfried’s death was made on Twitter, by his family, and they noted that Gottfried suffered from “a long illness.” Though they end the statement on a positive note, inspiring fans to “keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor.”

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children,” the statement began.
“Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor. Love, the Gottfried family,” his family concluded.

Gilbert Gottfried has become widely recognized for his iconic voice, one which has helped people of all ages laugh over the decades. He’s been a part of many animated works, such as Disney’s Aladdin and its many spin-offs, and he’s also maintained a legendary career as a comedian. As such, it’s safe to say that this is a sad revelation for everyone. But, as noted by his family, Gilbert Gottfried would have wanted fans to continue laughing and being positive in spite of that.
A few of his other iconic roles were featured in the films Look Who’s Talking Too, Problem Child, and Beverly Hills Cop II. He also had his own podcast, titled Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast!, and the most recent episode aired on April 4. It’s clear that despite his illness, he did his best to keep fans entertained.
He’s survived by his wife Dara, his daughter Lily, son Max, sister Karen, and his nephew Graham.
