After the success of Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, which focused on serial killer Ted Bundy, it appears that director Joe Berlinger is bringing another true crime docu-series to Netflix. This time, however, he’ll be exploring the notorious serial killer known as John Wayne Gacy. The new docu-series will consist of three episodes, and contain never-before-heard audio from John Wayne Gacy’s interrogation. The docu-series, titled Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes, will also include a number of new interviews with both investigators and survivors.
As such, this seems like the ultimate perspective into the chilling serial killer for those interested in true crime. Netflix has certainly had quite a few hits in the true crime genre over the last few years, so seeing John Wayne Gacy explored for Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes isn’t much of a surprise. But with Joe Berlinger at the helm, it’ll no doubt be an excellently-crafted deep-dive. Especially with so much exclusive material involved.
Here’s the trailer:
What’s especially interesting about this new docu-series is that some of the survivors being interviewed have never done so before. With so many people curious about John Wayne Gacy, his motivations, and how he managed to continue his crimes for so long, this should be a must-watch series for sure. And if the trailer is any indication, it should definitely live up to the standards set by Joe Berlinger’s previous documentary series, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.
The new 3-episode limit series, The John Wayne Gacy Tapes, will be available to stream later this month on Netflix on April 20, 2022. The series was produced by RadicalMedia Production in association with: Third Eye Motion Picture Company and Mike Mathis Productions. Fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any further updates on this series or Joe Berlinger’s upcoming projects as we have them.
