The highly-anticipated Warner Bros film The Flash has already had its share of delays and production issues. Now it appears the film, and in particular its top star, is now the subject of new discussions following the various legal debacles surrounding Ezra Miller. The young actor was recently arrested in Hawaii, and after further receiving a restraining order, it looks like Warner Bros is considering their options with Ezra Miller going forward. In particular, it means Warner Bros might even consider their options to replace Ezra Miller.
This was revealed via insider John Campea. He contacted his source from Warner Bros that told him “they’re discussing options” when it comes to Ezra Miller. Of course, this is a bit of a vague response. But it isn’t hard to imagine that the notion to replace Ezra Miller as The Flash has come up at the studio. Especially after they’ve already replaced Johnny Depp in the Fantastic Beasts series, a franchise that Ezra Miller is also part of.
Here’s what he stated:
“When stuff was going on last week, or earlier in the week, with the Ezra Miller stuff, I wrote to somebody I knew at Warner Bros.… saying, ’Hey, look, is Warner going to do anything about this? Are they going to address it this time? Is there a possibility you guys could part ways with Ezra Miller?’ And all that kind of stuff… not really expecting to hear anything back. And then… last night I got a response that was a little cryptic, but said ‘They’re discussing options.’”
He further explained that while this could mean Warner Bros is discussing how to replace Ezra Miller, they could also merely be discussing “how to spin” their decision to keep the young actor attached.
“Now, before we blow that phrase way out of proportion, I want to remind everybody that discussing options can mean a lot of things. It could mean… ‘We have decided to get rid of Ezra Miller, and we are looking currently at the best ways to go about doing that.’ Okay, sure. That’s one way you can look at it, but it could also mean that they’ve decided to do nothing about it, and they’re just discussing how to spin that.”
As such, it’s still unclear to know for sure what Warner Bros plans to do. But with emergency meetings being held regarding Ezra Miller, we’ll likely know what’s going to happen sooner rather than later. For the time being, The Flash is scheduled to hit theaters on June 23, 2023.
