For those that are unaware, House of the Dragon is based on part of George R.R. Martin’s novel Fire & Blood. The novel is made up of a collection of texts which precede the events of the main Ice & Fire series, and the second portion of Fire & Blood has yet to be released. In any case, it’s clear that HBO and HBO Max will have plenty of material to mine when it comes to George R.R. Martin’s fantasy world – and that should make fans happy.
The cast for the new House of the Dragon series includes Paddy Considine, Rhys Ifans, Matt Smith, and Olivia Cooke. Ryan J. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik are attached as showrunners. Fans will be able to see the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, via HBO Max on August 21.
