When Disney acquired Fox, Marvel fans were ecstatic. It meant that the studio would finally have the power to bring the X-Men into the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. It also meant that fans immediately began to speculate when and how such a feat would be accomplished. While it seems likely that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be the film to do so, many fans have began speculating that Thor: Love and Thunder could also feature a X-Men cameo. In particular, it was being rumored that the X-Men character Storm would make an appearance in the MCU movie. But that rumor has now been debunked.
The rumor first circulated when insider Daniel Richtman mentioned he’d heard rumblings of such a cameo. This was reported as far back as early 2021, and many fans were excited for such an early update on the highly-anticipated Thor sequel. But with the passage of time, the rumor has now been debunked. And it’s been debunked by none other than Daniel Richtman himself.
He revealed as much on Twitter, having stated the following:
“No. Mentioned it as a rumor I heard a year ago and since then I made it clear it’s not true.”

With that said, fans should probably quit expecting to see any X-Men cameos in Thor: Love and Thunder. Of course, that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing any X-Men characters in the near future. As mentioned above, it’s highly suggested that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will introduce at least one particular X-Men character, specifically Professor X played by Patrick Stewart. With his involvement in the new sequel, anything is surely possible. So we’ll probably see more X-Men characters sooner rather than later. It just won’t be Storm in Thor: Love and Thunder. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more updates as we have them.
