Fans are excited for the Disney Plus series Moon Knight, which will focus on the Marvel comic book character of the same name. With Moon Knight finally being introduced into the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe, many are anxious to know all of the details. This includes the other characters being included in the Moon Knight series, such as actor Ethan Hawke who will be playing Arthur Harrow. Now with the new Super Bowl spot for the show, it seems an additional layer regarding his character has now been revealed.
As fans who’ve paid attention to the original trailer and new Super Bowl spot, there are some vague hints at what Arthur Harrow could be doing in the series. It starts with a cane that Arthur Harrow is shown holding, and the fact that it sports two crocodile heads at the top. The heads are shown to glow with purple light, similar to a blast of purple energy showed elsewhere in the footage. Fans of the comics will remember there is a specific character in the comics, an Egyptian sphinx, that actually takes the form of a humanoid crocodile. Her name is Ammut.
With this knowledge, it seems reasonable to assume that the Moon Knight character played by Ethan Hawke is actually tied to Ammut. However, it’s unknown how exactly or why the two characters are connected. But considering that the series will show gods such as Khonshu who gives the titular character his superpowers, it makes sense that other gods and entities will be explored as well. In any case, this is just a tease for the massive supernatural narrative that’s about to hit our television screens.
Very good article!! I think that Ethan as Harrow will play a reincarnation of Anubis (or a herald). Egyptian mythology references are in the tattoo’s balance to weigh hearts & determine the goodness of souls and Ammut to devour the unworthy!! #MoonKnighthttps://t.co/RioIoc2ATi pic.twitter.com/E7nozDbeof
