Many Marvel fans are excited for Moon Knight, a Disney Plus series based on a beloved albeit also obscure superhero. While some fans are quite familiar with the character, others might not yet know his story. Interestingly, it looks like there will still be quite a few differences from the comics in the upcoming Disney Plus series. For example, the new synopsis confirms that the series will follow Steven Grant as opposed to Marc Spector, the main individual who becomes Moon Knight in the comics. The character that becomes Moon Knight is known to have multiple personalities, and Steven Grant happens to be one of those. However, another big change is that the character is a gift shop employee – whereas in the comics he’s a movie producer.
It definitely looks like the character will be somewhat different in the Disney Plus series as a result. But because of this, it seems like those who aren’t familiar with the comics won’t have too much to catch up on. This was all revealed in the new synopsis released by Disney alongside the trailer.
Here’s the full synopsis for Moon Knight:
“The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life,” the synopsis reads. “Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”
It’s worth noting that the character’s third personality from the comics, taxi driver Jake Lockley, isn’t mentioned in the synopsis. It’ll be interesting to see how or if that’s tackled in the full series. It definitely appears as though Disney is keeping a few secrets up their sleeve for this outing.
Fans will be able to finally see Moon Knight on Disney Plus beginning March 30.
