After a few teasers for the upcoming Disney Plus series Moon Knight were released, we finally have our first official trailer. This is an exciting time for fans of the character, especially considering how long they’ve waited for Moon Knight to get a proper live-action adaptation. And if this new footage is anything to go by, then they did an excellent job at adapting the beloved comic book character for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The new Moon Knight trailer first dropped during the NFL Super Wild Card matchup on ESPN and ABC. As such, it’s the perfect bit of exposure to start getting fans and audiences hyped for the new Disney Plus series. With the massive success of all the different Disney Plus MCU shows that premiered in 2021, it’ll be interesting to see how Moon Knight pans out for the streaming service.
Here’s the official trailer:
As for the setup of this series…
“The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt,” reads the official description.
The new Disney Plus series Moon Knight will star actor Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector, an individual with dissociative personality disorder and who ultimately becomes the titular Moon Knight. Meanwhile, Ethan Hawke will play the role of the first season’s villain. Marc Spector is a very unconventional superhero, and many fans of the character never expected him to get the proper MCU treatment. But now that Disney Plus has expanded as a major streaming platform, it seems that all the possibilities for some of Marvel’s more obscure characters have opened up.
Hopefully we’ll learn more about the series as we approach its release date. It’s unclear how far this series could tie in with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there will no doubt be some fascinating possibilities for the future.
