Following the recently released Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, Sony has been releasing new footage in little teaser clips that keep giving fans clues about the upcoming movie. The latest one they’ve released, however, may have fans a little more excited than the others – as it teases the presence of Tobey Maguire in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie – something fans are very excited about.
The clip features Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man talking with Alfred Molina‘s Otto Octavius AKA Doctor Octopus. They are discussing the Spider-Man that Doc Ock is familiar with – and how it is not Tom Holland’s version. Obviously, the only Spider-Man/Peter Parker that he would be familiar with is Tobey Maguire’s version from 2004’s Spider-Man 2.
Sony Pictures UK released the clip on their Twitter account:

At this point, we pretty much all know that Tobey Maguire is going to be in the film – they just haven’t officially shown us anything to confirm it yet. Whether or not they give us an official look at either Maguire or Andrew Garfield remains to be seen – but if one was to guess, it would probably be in some type of teaser or trailer that promotes tickets going on sale. That’s just a guess though.
With the movie releasing into theaters in less than a month, most fans are probably just content waiting to see the film without needing to see all of this additional new footage. Then again, however, there are some fans who can’t get enough of it – so we’re likely going to see a lot more before the movie is officially out.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to hit theaters everywhere on December 17th.
