Chris Rock has gone on record to share his thoughts on Batman V Superman at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this week, during a segment with J.J Abrams discussing franchise films. Vulture reports that he brought the film up to Abrams and, to say the least, it wasn’t a positive one:
Did you see that Superman Batman s***? What the f*** was that? I can’t say anything, they weren’t going to cast me anyway.
Rock was once cast to play Daily Planet journalist Jimmy Olsen in Tim Burton’s cancelled “Superman Lives”, which was set to star Nicolas Cage as the Man of Steel. He continued to press his ill opinion of Batman V Superman that the idea of the two fighting in the first place was ridiculous:
Superman can’t fight a guy that drives a car! He gets a flat. Like he’s going to fight Superman. Needs Triple A, but yeah, he can fight Superman. He’s got JUMPER CABLES, and he’s going to fight SUPERMAN.
Rock then went to the topic of Fantastic Four, and as explicit of a reaction has he had with Batman V Superman, he had little love to share for the new film, albeit still hopeful it can be done well with the right person, that being Abrams himself:
Could you direct the Fantastic Four? I love the Fantastic Four and they keep f***ing it up! Like, God damn it. It’s the Fantastic Four. Get in there with Denzel [Washington], man, and you do it.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently in theaters and Fantastic Four can be found in the $5 bin at your local Wal-Mart.
