In addition to her successful roles in Scream, Scream VI, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Jenna Ortega made headlines when she portrayed Wednesday Addams for the Netflix series Wednesday. The first season of the live-action series based on The Addams Family was a massive success for the platform. Now several years later, we’re finally getting Wednesday Season 2, and the first official trailer has been released.
It looks like both a return to form and yet an improvement on the first season, with a much darker take on the material that should have fans eager to see what’s in store. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are the writers and showrunners for Wednesday Season 2, with Tim Burton returning to direct several episodes in the same way he did for the first season.
Here’s the first official trailer for Wednesday Season 2:

The first season was a fascinating reinvention for the Addams Family brand. It not only brought a darker perspective to the franchise, but one that was just as rejuvenating as the live-action films from 1991 and 1993. Hopefully there will be plenty more Wednesday to come, and with less of a wait. Though with Ortega’s booming career – there’s no telling what might happen as a result of her busy work schedule. For now, we can finally enjoy the second season in the coming months.
In addition to the return of Ortega as the titular Wednesday Addams, the cast of the show’s second season also includes the return of Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. As for newcomers, we know that Lady Gaga will be appearing in the second season as a new character.
Wednesday Season 2 is scheduled to be released via Netflix later this year following a long wait since the first season was released in 2022. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated series Wednesday and any other Netflix updates as we have them.
