Four seasons is certainly enough time to become invested in a beloved television series. Sadly, it looks like one particular series streaming on Apple TV Plus has been canceled by the platform after releasing four seasons.
The series, a fan-favorite comedy that was most recently renewed for its third and fourth seasons in 2021, has been officially axed. This news that will no doubt disappoint fans was shared via Variety, and while it means there won’t be any additional seasons or episodes to enjoy, there is some positive news.
The outlet actually revealed that the final episode of the series will be updated with a new ending. The newly-added conclusion is set to provide some closure for the show. While it might be canceled, Apple TV seemingly wants to avoid disappointing fans of the series.

“The Apple TV+ comedy ‘Mythic Quest‘ is done after four seasons,” according to the outlet. “The series aired its fourth season finale on March 26 following its January debut. It had been renewed for Seasons 3 and 4 back in 2021.”
The outlet further adds that “the show is getting an extra life. An updated finale episode with a new ending will premiere next week on Apple TV+.”
Mythic Quest executive producers Megan Ganz, David Hornsby, and Rob McElhenney shared the following statement regarding the cancellation:
“Endings are hard. But after four incredible seasons, ‘Mythic Quest’ is coming to a close,” they began. “We’re so proud of the show and the world we got to build—and deeply grateful to every cast and crew member who poured their heart into it. To all our fans, thank you for playing with us. To our partners at Apple, thank you for believing in the vision from the very beginning. Because endings are hard, with Apple’s blessing we made one final update to our last episode—so we could say goodbye, instead of just game over.”
It’s not surprising that Apple TV would want the series to conclude with some kind of support and a proper ending. After all, Mythic Quest was one of the first original shows available on their streaming service as far back as 2020.
