The Spider-Man film franchise has been moving forward simultaneously at both Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. Now the latest installment in the MCU‘s series, Spider-Man 4, has just received an official title.
Sony Pictures revealed the title at the end of their CinemaCon showcase. Fans have paid attention to the event with an eagerness to learn more about the mysterious Spider-Man follow-up. As such, closing the event out with the reveal of the film’s official title is a great way to hype up interest for Spider-Man 4.
Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the sequel this time around while Tom Holland will reprise his role as the titular Spider-Man, aka Peter Parker, a role he played in the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy and several other films. Now, as shared in a new report, we know the title of this latest installment.
According to Deadline, the new film will be titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It seems to be leaving behind the naming convention of the previous three Spider-Man films which were subtitled Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home, respectively. The following statement was shared by Cretton at the event:
“Everyday right now, I’m exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of incredible artists of the world. How to swing, how to create an emotional story and a ride we haven’t seen before,” said Cretton.
“They tell me it’s tradition to tell you something about the film, that no one knows. We do have a trailer even though we didn’t share anything,” joked Cretton.
Holland himself then added the following line for exhibitors:
“I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger.”
At this point they debuted the new title, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which signifies a new direction forward for the fan-favorite superhero. Of course, we still have quite some time before more details are revealed, but this is great news to have.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them.
