The Marvel Cinematic Universe has delivered a number of epic crossover events with the Avengers movie series. Now the next Avengers film, Avengers: Doomsday, is set to be one of the biggest entries yet. Excitingly enough, Marvel Studios has finally announced the epic selection of cast members that will be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday.
Fans can expect to see characters both old and new in the new event film. Many of our former Avengers have since moved on from the franchise, which paves the way for various newcomers and new teams to appear. Of course, quite a few fan-favorites are returning to keep a line of continuity with the franchise’s original films.

It’s an impressive lineup that not only includes fan-favorite MCU characters from the past, or newcomers like those in the upcoming Fantastic Four: The First Steps, but it also includes the likes of X-Men actor Patrick Stewart. Stewart, whose character originated in Fox’s separate X-Men franchise, has since been included under MCU canon with his variant’s appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
This selection of cast members should be an exciting glimpse at what we can expect from Avengers: Doomsday. Of course, even with these actors involved, there’s still Avengers: Secret Wars to look forward to. If some of your favorite characters weren’t included in this current ensemble, then they could quite possibly appear in Secret Wars the following year.
As always, we’ll have to see what plans Marvel Studios might be keeping under their sleeves. For now, though, Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be another great crossover event much like its predecessors. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
