The Marvel Cinematic Universe is still growing with many superheroes and supervillains being set up to appear. Fans have their own cast members in mind to play these characters, however, including major celebrity Jenna Ortega. With that in mind, Jenna Ortega reminds her fans that she was already in the MCU.
Ortega, who is known for being in the two most recent Scream sequels and the Netflix series Wednesday, discussed her past work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. The conversation moved towards Marvel, and surprisingly, how Ortega was already part of the franchise.
While it’s not a complete secret, it could be easy to forget, as Ortega herself emphasizes how much of her role was cut down. At the time, however, she was not as big of a star as she is now. Here’s what she had to share on that front:
“I did it once,” she answered. “It was one of the first jobs I ever did. They took all my lines out. I’m in ‘Iron Man 3‘ for a quick second, I take up the frame … And I’m the Vice President’s daughter.”

Of course, that doesn’t mean she couldn’t return. In fact, Marvel star Paul Rudd, who co-stars alongside Jenna Ortega in Death of a Unicorn, explained that Marvel often plants seeds they can revisit at another time. For Ortega, however, she seems less interested in rejoining the world of Marvel.
“They even took my name away,” Ortega added. “But I just, I count that and move on.”
While Ortega could easily return to her Iron Man 3 character or play a completely different Marvel role, it seems as though she’s happy moving forward with her career. Many actors consider the Marvel Cinematic Universe the ultimate goal in their acting lives, but Ortega is happily staying busy with other projects.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Jenna Ortega or the MCU. While it seems unlikely the two will cross paths again, at least at this time, there’s no telling what the future could bring.
