The Marvel Cinematic Universe is adding a major new cast member to its overarching ensemble. It’s been officially announced that Sadie Sink, known for playing Max in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, has now joined the MCU.
Many rumors have circulated that Sadie Sink would be joining the MCU. After all, with Stranger Things officially coming to an end with its upcoming fifth season, her schedule is wide open for new projects. Now fans can look forward to her arrival to the world of Marvel as an all-new kind of character.
As shared via Deadline:
“Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is set to join the sequel from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios,” referring to the upcoming film Spider-Man 4. It’s been confirmed that Sink is joining the film to star alongside Tom Holland, who will once again reprise his role as Peter Parker aka the titular Spider-Man.
The outlet also noted that it’s currently unclear who exactly Sadie Sink will be playing in the sequel. However, there are two major roles that Sadie Sink is largely speculated to be playing. One such role would be X-Men fan-favorite Jean Grey, which would make sense if Marvel Studios wants to continue introducing the massive superhero team.
The other character she could possibly play may be surprising given the involvement of Zendaya as MJ. However, it’s been suggested that Sadie Sink could be appearing as none other than Mary Jane Watson. Now how exactly that could fit into the current storyline remains to be seen, but with various avenues including the Multiverse available, anything could happen.
Hopefully we’ll have more details regarding the production of Spider-Man 4 soon. Now that we know Sadie Sink has officially joined the production of the MCU follow-up, however, it should only be a matter of time before more cast members are announced.
