Millie Bobby Brown first gained wide recognition for her role in the 2016 series Stranger Things as Eleven, a role she is reprising for this year’s final season. During this time, her name has been credited as “Millie Bobby Brown,” which is the same for her numerous other screen appearances. Now, however, Millie Bobby Brown has revealed her real name and the reason she changed it.
While speaking with Buzzfeed, she revealed that “Bobby” is not actually her middle name. It’s a revelation that surprised many of her fans, and as shared below, there are plenty of social media reactions as a result. However, her real middle name isn’t too much of a change – and it even has the same initial.
Here’s what she revealed:
“My middle name is Bonnie. No Bobby, it’s Millie Bonnie Brown. I’ve never told anyone that.”
As for the reason? It’s actually not that major. Brown explained that she did it for “sh*ts and giggles,” and while that is a simple enough reason, there seems to also be an explanation for why she chose the name “Bobby.” It appears to have been an homage to her father, Robert Brown.

It’s definitely an interesting piece of history for Millie to drop at this point in her career. With her recent marriage, however, it’s worth noting that her official name is now Millie Bobby Brown Bongiovi. It’s quite the name and one that should follow her into the next stage of her career following the conclusion of Stranger Things.
