The Marvel Cinematic Universe has developed a talent for introducing recurring characters over the years. However, that doesn’t mean the reappearance of certain characters doesn’t occasionally come as a surprise. Now one such MCU character has been confirmed to return in the upcoming Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again.
The new Daredevil series follows where the original show left off, once again revolving around Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. Several other familiar faces are set to return, including Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher.
Now another such MCU return for Daredevil: Born Again has been revealed. Here’s what Variety shared on that front:
“The Swordsman is slashing his way back into the MCU.
“Tony Dalton is reprising his role as Jack Duquesne, aka The Swordsman, in two episodes of the upcoming Marvel series “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+.”
Fans of the comic book character The Swordsman were first introduced to the superhero, also known as Jack Duquesne, in the Disney Plus series Hawkeye. This traces the character’s debut back to 2021, with the same time and series that Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin made their MCU return. Now we’ll have Kingpin and The Swordsman returning for Daredevil: Born Again.
Details regarding the character’s return are being kept under wraps other than his appearance in two episodes of the upcoming Disney Plus series. In Hawkeye he was potentially teased as a villain, one that could’ve been affiliated with Kingpin, but he turned out not to be. Of course, we could always see his allegiances change, so it’ll be interesting to see how he fits into the world of Daredevil.
