Fans are eagerly awaiting next year’s Christopher Nolan epic The Odyssey. The film, which adapts Homer’s epic poem of the same name, has been receiving consistent updates now that production is underway. As you can see below, we’ve now received our biggest update yet, with the first look at The Odyssey revealing Matt Damon as the film’s Odysseus.
Odysseus, the lead character in the story, is the King of Ithaca who begins a tremendous journey following the end of the Trojan war. He struggles to return home against a number of mythological creatures and threats, and with Christopher Nolan at the helm, fans are eager to see how the director of the Dark Knight trilogy pulls off such sights.
In the meantime, however, we at least know what to expect regarding Matt Damon and his appearance in the film. For the below image, Damon’s character is visible in an era-appropriate outfit. Here’s the first look featuring Matt Damon as Odysseus in The Odyssey:

While fans are no doubt eager for more updates regarding the project, it won’t be released until next year. With production underway, however, it’s quite possible that more glimpses will surface online. Especially with so much hype building for the project.
In addition to Matt Damon, the film which is both written and directed by Christopher Nolan based on the epic by Homer, also stars Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie and Charlize Theron. Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, and Will Yun Lee also appear with Mia Goth being one of the most recent cast announcements.
