Marvel Studios is slowly getting their plans together for their X-Men property. The characters were acquired by the studio when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. Since then, they’ve been planning their introduction of mutants to the MCU, and now a X-Men reboot is in the works. Additionally, Margaret Qualley is now being rumored to play an iconic X-Men character in the MCU.
Margaret Qualley began growing in popularity with a small role in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. However, her recent role in 2024’s The Substance no doubt changed things for Qualley. Her major role in the film skyrocketed her popularity and it makes sense that Marvel Studios would be interested in having her for any future X-Men projects.
This rumor was shared by Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic. Additionally, he was also able to tell what character Qualley could potentially play in the MCU. Outside of that, however, there wasn’t much confirmation regarding whether or not her casting could be a serious move on Marvel’s part or if the studio is merely eyeing her as a possibility.
Nevertheless, Marget Qualley is being rumored for the part of X-Men character Rogue. Rogue, who is also known as Anna Marie, is a popular X-Men team member. In previous live-action X-Men films she was portrayed by Anna Paquin. In the spirit of Fox’s adaptations, however, she wasn’t very comic accurate. Fortunately, for fans, Margaret Qualley could change that if she were chosen to play Rogue.
Other casting rumors have been popping up for the upcoming X-Men reboot. At this time, however, they should all be taken with a grain of salt. It does make sense, however, that Marvel is already planning which stars to bring into their ensemble – especially with a project as big as X-Men on the horizon.
Michael Lesslie is currently writing the screenplay for the film. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the X-Men reboot and whether or not Margaret Qualley could be involved as we have them.
