A new film, following the conclusion of both the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World trilogies, is now on the way. The stand-alone sequel, titled Jurassic World Rebirth, introduces director Gareth Edwards to the long-running blockbuster franchise. Original Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp returned to pen this new installment. Now the first official trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth has been released online.
As mentioned, the film is a stand-alone sequel, and thus a new cast of characters are taking the story forward. Scarlett Johansson stars in the film as Zora Bennett along with Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado in addition to various other newcomers. Interestingly, it looks like their storylines will tread plenty of new territory for the sci-fi adventure franchise.

The storyline of the film series, which first erupted in 1993’s Jurassic Park, has certainly come a long way. As mentioned, David Koepp wrote Jurassic Park while Steven Spielberg directed the film. The movie itself was an adaptation of Michael Crichton’s novel of the same name. Crichton returned to write a sequel novel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Koepp returned to write the screenplay while Spielberg once again directed.
Since then, however, the franchise has shifted hands creatively several times. As such, many fans are excited to see Koepp write the script for this latest entry. Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not it can recapture the magic of that original 1993 film. Hopefully, however, if this trailer is any indication then we will all be in for a true surprise.
Jurassic World Rebirth is scheduled to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.
