Fans of the Scream film franchise have become increasingly curious about Scream 7. The divisive sequel is currently in production, and new details are still being released, including one particularly surprising announcement. It looks like Scream 3 actor Scott Foley has joined the Scream 7 cast.
For those familiar with the series, they’ll recall that Foley previously played Roman Bridger in Scream 3. Bridger was revealed to be the brother of Neve Campbell’s character Sidney Prescott, and furthermore, the Ghostface of that specific entry. His motivations also tied him to the original film, revealing that he groomed Billy Loomis into becoming a killer.
The announcement that Scott Foley has joined Scream 7 was shared by Deadline, with the outlet having pondered numerous ways in which his character could appear in the film. While that remains to be seen, fans will no doubt have plenty of theories and discussions leading up to the sequel’s release early next year.
In addition to Foley and the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, the cast of Scream 7 also includes Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown, all reprising their roles from past installments. Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, and Mark Consuelos have all joined as newcomers.
Kevin Williamson, the creator of the Scream franchise, will be directing the film from a screenplay written by Guy Busick. This is certainly shaping up to be an interesting installment in the series, one which will return focus to Sidney Prescott and her family following the events of 2022’s Scream and 2023’s Scream VI.
