The Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuing to move further into the horror genre. One of its upcoming projects for this year, the Disney Plus animated series Marvel Zombies, will focus on the titular storylines that previously inspired an episode of What If…?. Now fans know a total of nine MCU actors that will be joining the cast of Marvel Zombies.
While the series already has its ties to the MCU, especially when considering its predecessor What If…?, Marvel Zombies will be unique in that it will have a TV-MA rating. This means the series will be able to contain R-rated content, and throwing in well-known MCU actors into the mix, it could be a rather surprising step forward for the franchise.
The cast members were revealed on the official Walt Disney Company website. The website shared a preview for all of the different projects that fans can expect in 2025 for their animation slate. In addition to Marvel Zombies, this includes the likes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Eyes of Wakanda. Of course, fans are still curious to see how Marvel Zombies will turn out – especially with throwing the MCU into such a horror-centered concept.
Here are the MCU actors announced to be joining the voice cast of Marvel Zombies:
- Awkwafina as Katy
- David Harbour as Red Guardian
- Simu Liu as Shang-Chi
- Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch
- Randall Park as Jimmy Woo
- Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova
- Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop
- Dominique Thorne as Ironheart
- Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel
It’s an interesting selection of cast members and characters from the MCU, and it’s unknown how exactly they’ll all fit into the developing storyline of Marvel Zombies. However, with the series finally premiering in 2025, we’ll hopefully have more details regarding the show in the near future.
Fans will be able to finally stream Marvel Zombies via Disney Plus later this year on October 3. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated animated series as we have them. The Marvel Zombies storylines have been a fan-favorite Marvel event for years, so seeing the concept applied to the MCU is certainly exciting.
