Ray Stevenson gave an acclaimed performance as Baylan Skoll in the Disney Plus series Ahsoka. Sadly, the actor passed away just several months before the Star Wars spin-off was released. Now a replacement for Ray Stevenson has been announced ahead of the production for Ahsoka Season 2.
As the title suggests, the Disney Plus series Ahsoka revolved around the fan-favorite character of the same name. Rosario Dawson portrays Ahsoka following her live-action debut in The Mandalorian, and many associated characters also appear following animated appearances in shows like Star Wars: Rebels.
Ray Stevenson’s Baylan Skoll was one of several newcomers, however, and his character in particular resonated with viewers. There’s a sense of mystery to Skoll and his motivations that kept fans paying close attention. Sadly, knowing that Stevenson passed away, it also left many viewers wondering how his storyline would continue. Especially with the conclusion of Ahsoka hinting at Skoll’s greater purpose.
Now, as shared via THR, Rory McCann is set to replace Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll for the show’s second season. McCann is known for having played The Hound in Game of Thrones, and while Stevenson’s unique performance will absolutely be missed, McCann is definitely not a bad choice to follow in his footsteps.
Rory McCann has reportedly been cast as Baylan Skoll in ‘AHSOKA’ Season 2.
He will replace Ray Stevenson in the role, who sadly passed away in 2023.

Baylan Skoll is a former Jedi whose current motivations are unclear. However, he seems to be on neither side of the rebellion of the Empire, with a greater goal in mind. At a time when some fans would love to see more than the traditional galactic conflict we’ve been watching for decades, they’re certainly eager to see what Skoll is trying to get up to.
As of this writing, there is no set production date for Ahsoka Season 2. However, now that casting is underway, one can hope that we’ll have more news sooner than later. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Ahsoka as we have them.
