The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been constructed around an ensemble of recurring characters. However, there are some characters that have appeared far less than others. Now Marvel Studios is going all the way back to Phase One so that a familiar character can return in a new MCU series.
This surprising news was shared via Deadline, which revealed that a character not only from Phase One – but the very first MCU movie, Iron Man – will be making their return in Vision Quest. The Disney Plus series is a spin-off of WandaVision and will revolve around Paul Bettany’s Vision.
The returning character, however, is much different from Vision. In fact, fans will be familiar with their role as a villain in Iron Man. Here’s what the outlet had to share on that front:
“Faran Tahir (Iron Man, Star Trek) will appear in the Paul Bettany-led series Vision Quest.”
For those who need a refresher, Farah Tahir played Raza in Iron Man. The character was the leader of the Ten Rings, a terrorist organization that has surfaced several times throughout the MCU. While details of Tahir’s return as Raza are being kept under wraps, it’s definitely an interesting choice for the series.
Aside from the return of Paul Bettany as Vision and Faran Tahir as Raza, the cast of the new MCU series also includes the return of James Spader as Vision. Todd Stashwick is involved in the series as an unknown character. Hopefully more information will be released as we approach the show’s production start date. Hopefully it does justice to Vision’s character and all of the others set to appear.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the release of Vision Quest as we have them. With Faran Tahir involved with the Disney Plus series, it’ll be interesting to see who else might pop up in the highly-anticipated spin-off.
